- Chest pain, pressure, tightness or heaviness lasting more than a few minutes
- Chest discomfort with sweating, nausea, vomiting or light-headedness
- Pain spreading to the left arm, both arms, jaw, neck, upper back or upper abdomen
- Sudden severe breathlessness, particularly at rest or on lying flat
- Fainting or near-fainting with palpitations
Heart attack symptoms are frequently atypical in women, in older adults and in people with diabetes.
